This unusual postcard is one of a series called "William Rowe's Surreal Postcards." It was part of a postcard book from Dover Publications, a company known for their royalty free art and many, many paperdoll books (I love, love, love paperdolls). I ended up with a few of these postcards in my project and I rather like the surreal images. Except for one, which is a bit creepy, and I used it in a mailart card for the MailArt365 project. The title of this card is "Things Ain't The Way They Used To Be," which explains the subject line.
It was just luck that I happened to have the Georgia O'Keefe postage on hand when Jennifer adopted this card last December. She sent me a fabulous Washington, D.C., postcard requesting an orphaned postcard. I'm getting more and more postcard requests for orphans. I think the people at the post office might get a bit curious as to why I exclaim "Another adoption request!" when I pull my mail out of my box.

Wow, you couldn't have had a better matching stamp!! :)
ReplyDeleteHow perfect. The card is beautiful, if a little unsettling.
