This postcard is part of a set by Nina Chakrabarti titled World of Fashion Postcards. All the postcards are uncoloured, and the sender, or recipient, is prompted to add some flair. Vanessa received this orphaned postcard uncoloured and she really had fun giving these legs some flair! She even added some washi tape to the back to match the tights on the front. I just love the vibrant colours!
When I got this postcard back, it reminded me of a penpal I met for the first time last year. Mary has a fabulous flair for color and fun. We met first at the Letter Writing Social last April held in Washington, D.C. at the National Postal Museum. Mary wrote about the event on her blog, with lots of pictures. And then we met again at the Pennsylvania Letter Writing Social in November.
Mary's blog, uncustomary, is filled with her many excursions into the world of art installations, wonderful trips to unusual places (usually within a few hours drive from her home), and all sorts of creative ways to bring happiness to the world. I think of uncustomary as a Blog of Record because it captures so much creativity, fun and happiness. Just like Mary.
EDIT: I think I may have confused people with mixing this postcard and my second "Blog of Record" posting. Vanessa, who participates in a 52 Weeks of Mail project, adopted this postcard. I'm not sure if Mary and Vanessa know each other, but it wouldn't surprise me if they did. We mail and art and mailart enthusiasts tend to find each other.

This is incredibly sweet. Thank you so much!! <3
ReplyDeletePS - I wrote you a postcard tonight.
Also - I need to do that with washi tape. Washi tape leggings, oh my!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great entry, PostMuse! Thanks for linking to uncustomary. I didn't have that one on my list to read and now I do. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that's fantastic! It's absolutely a Mary-like postcard.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great postcard! Thank you Mary!
ReplyDeleteDo-it-yourself (or improve it yourself) - nice idea, and someone actually did it!
ReplyDeleteFabulous postcard! I adore Mary! She is my honorary daughter who happens to be much more enlightened than me.
