This is Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The street is Hamdan Street and it looks to be a rather old photo. A quick glance online shows lots taller buildings in this area. Jennifer writes that this city is becoming more modern every day. Indeed, in the distance, a crane is just barely visible on a top of a building, perhaps adding more height.

Abu Dhabi is 3-4 hours by car from where Jennifer lives, though it depends on how fast you drive. I suspect if I were driving, it would be 5-6 hours. I'm a bit of a pokey driver.
The postage stamps on this postcard are quite large, and look very much like photographs. I don't know who the men are, but the one in the bottom image has Paul McCartney eyes.
The stamps are simply amazing! I would like to receive a postcard from Abu Dhabi.
ReplyDeleteHello BonnieJeanne! Thank you for blogging my adopted orphan. Reading it made my day. And thanks a lot for the surprise postcard you sent my way. My mailbox (not as cute as yours, though) was very happy that day. :)
