This view of Salzburg, Austria, come via the United Arab Emirates. Jennifer is saving up for a visit to Salzburg, and this view whets her appetite. What really makes me smile is that Jennifer got the desire to visit Salzburg because of a koreanovela, which is a word I had to look up. It is a Korean television drama. Apparently the particular story Jennifer watched takes place in Salzburg, in the winter, and it is very romantic. So, here is romantic Salzburg, from UAE, because of Korean drama, on Valentine's Day.
The falcon postage is not so romantic, but I can't resist adding it because I'm quite fond of any sort of bird. The US Postal Service issued a series of Birds of Prey postage last year, but they were a bit too fierce looking for many and didn't sell well. This sort stylized bird might have been a better option.
I don't typically celebrate Valentine's Day, although as I get older, I rather like the idea of valentines from friends, and my grandchildren. I just don't much like the romantic pressure. I think mail enthusiasts worldwide should take Valentine Day's day out of the romantic realm and make it a salute to our love of mail.

Salzburg is wonderful even without the Sound of Music in the background. I did enjoy seeing the lake where Julie Andrews and the kids fell into the water. Happy Valentine's Day, Bonnie Jeanne!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny ... my train went through Salzburg a week ago and it was all grey & foggy!
ReplyDeleteThanks again BonnieJeanne! I loved it. Like you I don't celebrate the V-Day, but I chose this date for the blog because the postcard deserves it. Hehe.
