Favorite Memories

This absolutely gorgeous vintage postcard is a dream to behold in real life. Very thick paper that I believe is linen. And the colors ... amazing. It is published by Colourpicture of Boston, Massachusetts, but I can't find a single image of it online, so I don't know how old it is.

Old Orchard Beach in Maine is a popular summer holiday spot. I know the scene pictured doesn't look much like "beach," but that is part of Maine's charm ... the forest often meets the beach.

Georgette lives in Ohio, but Maine is one of her favorite holiday destinations as she has family in Maine. On one visit, her family took her to Old Orchard Beach, and Georgette's aunt, who hadn't been there in years, accompanied them. They all had a wonderful time, and Georgette writes that this card brought back that special memory because her aunt passed away a couple of years ago. She remember that time at the shore and the fun they had together.
