This image is a bit hard to make out on the small screen. It is an engraving of St. Augustine in England from about 1655. The abbey, founded in 598 by St. Augustine, is one of the oldest sites in England, and this engraving shows the buildings that were still in use at the time of the artwork. Now it is ruins, but remarkable ruins.
Jackie's hometown of St. Augustine, Florida, was named for this abbey. Her ancestors have been in that town since the 1700s, having come via Menorca, Spain, as indentured servants. St Augustine, Florida, has its own ruin, Castillo de San Marcos, the oldest masonry fort in the continental United States. It is not quite the ruin that the original St Augustine is now, but it is still quite remarkable.

I'm glad you could get something useful out of what I wrote on the card. I just saw some new flower stamps that are being released in St. Augustine on April 3 in honor of Florida's 500th birthday - I wish I could be there.
