Linda's daughter, Sophie, writes that her parents took her to Storyland when she was young, and she made them ride the Spinning Turtles until they were almost sick. But, she found another girl whose parents were "wimpy" and wouldn't ride, so Sophie and that girl rode the turtles all day. Sophie thinks maybe it wasn't the case that they rode ALL day, but that's how she remembers it.
I have very fond memories of Storyland. When I was a kid, we went on camping trips in New Hampshire, and I would see the signs for Storyland. My sisters and I really wanted to go, but my parents were more interested in the active attractions, like Lost River, a twisting, scary hike through a granite canyon with roaring water underneath. So, when my daughters were little, I made up for lost time. We did go to Storyland every year, and also Santa's Village. And now my daughters are taking my grandchildren to these parks.
